Maple, Rock (H) (Acher saccharum) aka Hard Maple, Sugar Maple, White Maple. Canada and Eastern US. Cream white with a slight reddish tinge. Large trees may have a dark heartwood. Texture is fine and even. Commonly used for flooring, higher-end cabinetry, and furniture. It is excellent for turnery and can have a beautiful birdseye appearance. Specific gravity .72
