Cypress, Australian (H) (Cypress macrocarpa) Straight grained with a fairly fine, even texture. The heartwood is orange to pinkish-brown, may have resin cells appearing as brown streaks or flecks. The wood works without difficulty with hand and machine tools, but the knots can be troublesome. It nails, screws and glues well, and gives satisfactory results with the usual finishing treatments.
